Produce a month of scroll-stopping ads in an afternoon.

Creative is now the biggest lever in paid ads — and the biggest bottleneck. We’ll teach you a repeatable AI creative workflow that turns research into dozens of on-brand concepts every week, then a testing system that finds the winners.

What’s changed

Why creative became the whole game

Creative is the new targeting

With automated audiences on Meta, Google and TikTok, the ad itself tells the algorithm who to show it to. Different concepts reach different people.

Fatigue is faster

Feeds move quickly and audiences tire of the same ad. Accounts that refresh concepts regularly tend to hold performance longer.

AI collapsed production cost

Image, video, voice and copy tools mean a small team can produce what used to require a studio — if they have a system.

New responsibilities

Platforms and regulators increasingly expect disclosure of realistic synthetic media, consent for likenesses and honesty in claims.

What you’ll learn

Every creative format, with AI in the loop

Research & angles

Mine reviews, comments, support tickets, sales calls and competitor ads with AI to extract pains, desires, objections and the exact words customers use.

Copy at scale

Headlines, primary text, hooks, scripts, landing page sections and email follow-ups — generated in batches from a brand voice guide, then human-edited.

Static images

Product-in-context scenes, lifestyle imagery, comparison graphics, testimonial cards, memes and carousels built from your real product photos.

Video

AI-generated B-roll, product motion, text-to-video concepts, animated statics and AI-assisted editing for Reels, TikTok and YouTube.

UGC & avatars

Creator briefs, AI-assisted UGC editing and, where appropriate, disclosed AI avatar presenters for explainers and localization.

Voice & localization

AI voiceovers, consented voice cloning, translation and dubbing so one winning ad can run in multiple languages and markets.

The workflow

Our weekly AI creative sprint

A repeatable process that takes you from insight to launched ads in a few focused hours.

  1. 01

Research (insights in, not prompts out)

Feed AI real inputs — reviews, transcripts, comments, top competitor ads — and extract themes, quotes and objections. Better inputs beat clever prompts.

  2. 02

    Concepting with the Hook Matrix

Cross personas, problems, desires and formats to generate a grid of distinct concepts. Pick the strongest 5–10 for the week based on your testing plan.

  3. 03

    Scripting and copy

Draft hooks, scripts and copy for each concept from your brand voice guide. Write several hooks per concept so you can test openings separately.

  4. 04

    Production

Generate or shoot visuals, edit video, add captions and voiceover, and adapt to each placement (1:1, 4:5, 9:16). Use your real product and brand assets as references.

  5. 05

    Review and compliance check

A human checks every asset for accuracy, brand fit, policy compliance, rights and disclosure before launch. No exceptions.

  6. 06

    Launch, read and iterate

Launch into your testing structure, read results against decision rules and feed learnings — winning hooks, angles and formats — into next week’s sprint.

Creative principles

What separates AI ads that convert from AI slop

Before and after comparison of generic and on-brand AI ad creative

Quality bar

AI is the production crew. Strategy is still yours.

  • Start from insight, not aesthetics. A beautiful image with no angle loses to a plain one that names the problem.
  • Keep the product real. Use actual product photos as references; never let AI alter features, packaging, results or ingredients.
  • Design for the feed. Native, imperfect and human often beats glossy. Check every asset on a phone.
  • Build brand style cards. Reusable prompt blocks for color, lighting, typography and tone keep a team consistent.
  • Watch for tells. Warped hands, garbled text, uncanny faces and over-smoothed skin erode trust instantly.
  • One message per ad. AI makes it easy to add more. Resist it.

Brand safety & disclosure

Use AI responsibly — and keep your accounts safe

Disclose realistic synthetic media

Major platforms have policies and labels for AI-generated or altered content, especially realistic people and events. We teach when and how to disclose on each platform.

Consent for likeness and voice

Never imitate a real person, celebrity or competitor spokesperson. Use avatars and voice clones only with documented consent and licensed tools.

Truthful claims

AI can confidently invent statistics and testimonials. Every claim in an ad must be substantiated, and every testimonial must be real and permissioned.

Rights and licensing

Check each tool’s commercial-use terms, avoid generating copyrighted characters or trademarks, and keep records of what was generated and how.

Testing

A creative testing system that finds winners on small budgets

Test levelWhat changesWhen to use it
ConceptPersona, angle or core messageEvery week — this is where big wins come from
FormatStatic vs. video vs. carousel vs. UGCWhen a concept works, to find its best expression
HookFirst line, first frame or headline onlyTo revive or extend a proven ad cheaply
IterationPacing, length, call to action, visual detailsOn winners, to squeeze more from them
LocalizationLanguage, region and cultural cuesWhen expanding to new markets

  • Set decision rules before launch: spend thresholds tied to your target CPA, plus hook and hold-rate benchmarks from your own account.
  • Name every ad by concept, format and hook so you can analyze patterns across hundreds of ads.
  • Use AI to summarize weekly results and suggest next tests — then sanity-check its conclusions.

Metrics to watch

Creative metrics by stage

StageMetricWhat a weak number means
AttentionHook rate / thumb-stop rateThe first frame or line isn’t earning a pause
InterestHold rate, average watch timeThe middle drags or the payoff comes too late
IntentCTR, cost per clickThe offer or call to action isn’t compelling
ActionConversion rate, CPA, ROASMismatch between ad promise and landing page, or a weak offer
DurabilityPerformance over time vs. frequencyFatigue — time for new hooks or concepts

Common mistakes

What we see go wrong with AI creative

  • Prompting without research: generic inputs produce generic ads.
  • Volume without variety: fifty near-identical images are one concept, not fifty tests.
  • Skipping human review: typos, inaccurate products and off-brand tone reach the feed.
  • Fake social proof: invented testimonials or reviews — a fast route to policy violations and lost trust.
  • Undisclosed avatars and clones: realistic synthetic people without disclosure or consent.
  • Chasing tools instead of process: switching tools weekly instead of building a workflow that works with any of them.

FAQ

AI ad creative questions, answered

Do AI-generated ads actually perform?

They can, when they’re built on real customer insight and pass a human quality bar. AI is best at speed and volume; strategy, taste and accuracy still come from you. Performance always depends on your offer, market and execution.

Do I need design or video skills?

No. We teach the workflow from scratch, including basic composition, editing and the most common fixes. Designers and editors in the program use it to multiply their output.

Will platforms penalize AI-generated ads?

Platforms generally evaluate ads on policy compliance and user response, not on whether AI was used. Some require disclosure of realistic synthetic media. We cover each platform’s current rules.

Which AI tools do I need to buy?

You can start with free and low-cost tools. We show what’s worth paying for at each stage on our AI ad tool stack page.

Can I use AI avatars instead of real people?

Sometimes. Avatars work well for explainers, tutorials and localization. For testimonials and personal brands, real people usually build more trust — and avatars must never be used to fake a testimonial.
